This writing program, offered to students across all grade levels (3-12), will introduce participants to The Hochman Method aka “The Writing Revolution,” an explicit set of sequenced strategies for learning expository writing that can be integrated into any content.
Specific strategies will be presented to improve the structure, coherence, and clarity of students’ writing beginning at the sentence level. The focus moves to outlines, paragraphs, and compositions. Participants will also engage in lessons on note-taking, summarization, and revision.
This writing program, led by a trained speech pathologist, introduces participants to the Hochman Method–also known as “The Writing Revolution”–an evidence-based, explicit and sequenced approach to teaching expository writing that can be integrated into any subject area. This program will provide opportunities to practice and create activities as well as receive feedback at their sessions.
